Kick-off meeting  in Thailand

The kick-off meeting of the IRRIGATION4.0 project took place in Thailand from 05.02. - 07.02.2020 including all project partners and collaborators from Thailand, Germany and Myanmar. On February 5th at NECTEC, Thailand Science Park, Pathum Thani, the work package leaders introduced their work packages and the progress made so far, followed by a detailed discussion on research plans. The kick-off meeting continued on February 6th-7th with a visit of the durian orchard at Chantaburi Horticultural Research Center. The IRRIGATION4.0 partners had a great experience in learning about durian physiology and durian agricultural practices from Miss. Siriporn Vorakuldumrongchai, the director of Chantaburi Horticultural Research Center. NECTEC members also tested their sensors at the durian orchard.
IRRIGATION4.0 is funded by the BMBF and NSTDA under the frame of the Southeast Asia-Europe Joint Funding Scheme for Research and Innovation, project call 2018. This is the first project under the umbrella framework agreement ‘NSTDA-Jülich Joint Laboratory on Bioeconomy'.

 

 

 

Dr. Panita Pongpaibool, deputy director of NECTEC, welcomed the IRRIGATION4.0 project members.

Miss Siriporn Vorakuldumrongchai, Chantaburi Horticultural Research Center, showed the durian experimental plot and explained the particularities of durian physiology and agricultural practices.

The IRRIGATION4.0 research team tested some sensors in the durian orchard.
